The Calm in the Chaos: Celebrating Our Dispatchers

This week, the Atascadero Police Foundation is proud to celebrate the unsung heroes of public safety—our incredible dispatchers—during Public Safety Dispatcher Appreciation Week 2025!

Public Safety Dispatcher Appreciation Week is all about saying thank you to the voices behind the badge. These are the people who answer the call—literally—stay calm in the chaos, and make sure Atascadero Police and Fire get where they’re needed. What they do every day is nothing short of incredible, handling high-stakes, high-pressure situations with skill and composure. We are so glad they are our first call in A-Town when it matters most.

To honor their dedication, the Atascadero Police Department’s Dispatch Center has been transformed into a festive and welcoming space. Thanks to the support of the Foundation, dispatchers are each being treated to lunch and provided an assortment of goodies throughout the week, giving them a moment to pause and enjoy some well-deserved recognition.

Whether it’s answering emergency calls, coordinating response units, or offering reassurance in a moment of panic, A-town Dispatch embodies the very best of public service.

At the Atascadero Police Foundation, one of our core missions is the recognition of excellence in public safety. Supporting Dispatcher Appreciation Week is a perfect reflection of that commitment. We’re honored to stand behind the family of dedicated dispatchers who serve our Atascadero community with compassion, composure, and excellence every day.

To our APD/AFD dispatchers: Anjanette, Adam, Julia, Shandi, Alisha, Kayla, Marina, and Cheyenne; we see you, we appreciate you, and we thank you.
